1. Our Commitment to Safety
Consultiverse is committed to providing a safe, professional, and respectful environment for all users. This Safety Policy outlines our approach to content moderation, user reporting, and enforcement in compliance with the Online Safety Act 2023.
We take all reports seriously and aim to review and respond to them promptly. Our goal is to maintain a platform where consultants and clients can connect with confidence.
2. Prohibited Content and Conduct
The following are not permitted on the Consultiverse platform:
- Harassment or bullying — threatening, abusive, or intimidating behaviour towards other users
- Fraud or misrepresentation — false credentials, fabricated experience, or misleading profile information
- Spam — unsolicited bulk messaging, promotional content, or automated contact
- Impersonation — pretending to be another person or organisation
- Illegal activity — content or conduct that violates applicable laws
- Discrimination — content that discriminates based on race, gender, religion, disability, sexual orientation, age, or other protected characteristics
- Inappropriate content — sexually explicit, violent, or otherwise inappropriate material
- Intellectual property infringement — using content without proper authorisation or attribution
3. How to Report
If you encounter content or behaviour that violates this policy, you can report it in the following ways:
- In-app reporting: Click the "Report" button on any consultant profile, project listing, message, or review to submit a report directly
- Email: Contact [email protected] with details of the issue
- Support form: Use the contact form on our website
When submitting a report, please provide:
- The reason for your report (selected from a predefined list)
- A detailed description of the issue
- Any relevant evidence or context
You can submit up to 5 reports per day. All reports are treated confidentially.
4. What Happens When You Report
When we receive a report, we follow this process:
- Acknowledgement: Your report is logged and assigned a unique reference
- Initial review: Our moderation team reviews the report, typically within 48 hours
- Investigation: We examine the reported content and any relevant context
- Decision: We determine whether the content violates our policies
- Action: Appropriate action is taken (see Section 5 below)
- Notification: Both the reporter and the reported user are informed of the outcome
You can check the status of your reports at any time through your account settings.
5. Moderation Actions
Depending on the severity and nature of the violation, we may take one or more of the following actions:
- Warning: A formal notice to the user that their content or behaviour violates our policies
- Content removal: Removal of the specific content that violates our policies
- Temporary suspension: Temporary restriction of account access for a specified period
- Permanent ban: Permanent removal from the platform for serious or repeated violations
- Referral to authorities: Reporting to law enforcement where we believe illegal activity has occurred
We apply a proportionate approach, considering the severity of the violation, whether it is a first offence, and the impact on other users.
6. Appeals Process
If action is taken against your account or content, you have the right to appeal. To appeal a moderation decision:
- You will receive a notification explaining what action was taken and why
- You can submit an appeal through your account settings within 14 days of the decision
- Alternatively, email [email protected] with your appeal
- We aim to review appeals within 7 working days
- You will be notified of the appeal outcome
Appeal decisions are final. If you are unsatisfied with the outcome, you may contact Ofcom (see Section 9).
7. User Responsibilities
All users of Consultiverse are expected to:
- Maintain accurate and truthful profile information
- Communicate professionally and respectfully
- Report any content or behaviour that violates this policy
- Not misuse the reporting system to harass other users
- Comply with our Terms of Service
8. Transparency Reporting
In accordance with the Online Safety Act 2023, we publish transparency reports covering:
- The number of reports received and their categories
- The number of reports that resulted in action
- Average response and resolution times
- The number of appeals received and their outcomes
